okay... I got into this thread a couple days ago and haven't been online since!

first of all...

I need to sell this boy.. I was saving for private collection....
Lars

What "private" collection? Obviously he isn't a collector...

second of all...
I can't BELIEVE he told lyrical star she wasn't an expert and talked down to her like that...

third,
I was reading your banter with him on the Arena thread- Skeen... and I think the
natural oil based plastic product
bit is bulls***... You were calling him out, and he came up with a clever cover-up. He didn't have this mentioned in the auction, but when you spoke of the curiousity he knew he needed an explanation.

Now I could be very naive in saying this so, please- anyone, inform me if I'm mistaken... I've never heard of an "oil plastic product" used to preserve ponies. This could be because I'm a very young (and new) collector OR it's just not something collectors do to their ponies.

I'm thinking it's because collector's don't put oil on ponies. Lars just made it up to explain why the symbols were shiny...

THEN after Skeen further inquires what the magic plastic preserving liquid is- it turns out to be vegetable oil... Well why didn't he just say that in the first place?
Buying time?

AND LAST-
This WHOLE thing, the whole Colombian pony fiasco sounds like absolute crap to me...
How does a whole community of pony collectors from the US to Norway to Australia to Germany to Mexico and wherever else not know anything about Colombian ponies but some random couple just happens to keep finding thousands of dollars worth of them?
I feel like investigating Hasbro's records themselves to find out whatever I can about the production of ponies in Colombia. I mean is it like gold mining down there? What if I just hopped into Colombia and went to hunt for these ponies and after a couple months returned here with a mortgage payment of them? Why is this exclusive to one couple?
I don't really buy any of it...

and ALL he keeps saying to defend his claim of not restoring the pony is "I am incapable"

See he's telling the truth (maybe for all we know he is capable)
But if he isn't capable then it's true when he says so... But it's not the whole truth and nothing but the truth, your honor! I object! Sustained! Go directly to jail do not collect 200 dollars!

well, im at the arena as well as here. i looked up his threads he posted over there about his mr. pink pony. here is his latest post about him.
My Little Pony Arena » Forums » TCB » Trader & Classifieds Support » An impostor, an inexperienced pony collector, or??

i noticed skeen commented on there, but looks like one of the mods took some of it out. wonder what she didnt want seen on there? its funny that we, the tp, are starting to think he isn't who he said he is, that he is in it for the money and to con people, to where the arena, believe him and congratulate him on finding the rare beauties and wish him good luck on his sales. unbeleivable.

it kind of sickens me how many people on the arena are saying they're sorry this is happening to him ESPECIALLY after they say him sell the same pony to 2 different people.
The community is just that, a community of collectors... they saw a collector get hurt but because they don't want the neat colombian ponies to go away, they're extending apologies? it isn't right...

And not only was the ebay response to LyricalStar disgusting... but he started at THREAD about it at the arena???
It would be impossible to restore a pony and pawn it off as original.... Has this ever been attempted? Has it been accomplished and uncovered after the sale date? To even attempt to do this would for sure end business for me everywhere...

bold- I LOVE how he's blatantly asking this of the collecting community... like he's one of them but he wants to know if he can pass off newly mint baity ponies as the real thing.
italics- HA! I don't even know what he's trying to say with this... That if he tried to restore it would end his business? or if others did?

I mean my god...

In the Variant Restoration contest, we saw that Skyrocketneko could go from this:

to this!

and her symbols aren't even shiny!!!

I laughed when I read the vegetable oil thing.

I think it's clear we're dealing with someone looking to milk this for all that it's worth and get as much money as he can.

I was thinking about this the other day... the thread where that poor collector was telling his story about Applejack, Lars said he didn't realise how much pony collecting meant to people.

Really?

Someone paid over one THOUSAND dollars for a plastic toy, and he didn't realise how much it meant to people????

It's a joke. I wish someone legit would start selling columbian ponies and give him a run for his money.

I agree... I mean he's taking advantage of collectors!

IMHO, he can keep his baity nasty Colombians but I don't want to see other collectors that want them to be hurt and CHEATED.

hehe I just asked him in his thread how many of these Daddy Apple-Delight Columbian variants he's had in his possession.

and that's ANOTHER thing...
How, out of all these ponies, he's "finding" are all the boys Daddy Apple Delights? 2 (or 3?) pink ones and a blue one... funny how they're all the same character... I mean did Columbia only produce Daddy Apples? I doubt it...
I smell a rat.

Yeah I think that's the suspicious thing to me, that there have only been a handful of columbians uncovered from him so far, yet quite a few of them seem to be the one pony?

Lets not forget the double listing of that baity baby one... I always find it suss when people list the same item twice. Unless there's a reason for that I don't know about??

no, they also have lots of babies. he has found different colored babies with star symbols. i think they were pegasus babies. so its not just the daddys he has found. not to forget the columbian bow tie and apple jack he had too.

I meant the only boys were Daddy Apples...

BBD- do you know this? Do you know when these Colombians first started popping up?

So... is it possible he found 3 of these ponies, and one of them was in great condition (the auction one)??

from what it sounds like in that thread, since she cant possibly afford to buy one, she wants to make a custom of him for herself. she does very good customs, so i would imagine she would use a bb or mb for the bait and do her best to duplicate mr. pinks look from the pics that have been provided. i would like to see that blue one customized since 3 of him hasnt been found.

yeah she wanted to make customs because she'd have to sell her soul to buy a real one.

im starting to think, why go through the hassle to rehair him only to make it look ratted and messy. i mean its shiny and silky looking, but the ends look so rough to dry. could someone do that to make it look original. or could conditioning, ironing and a lot of combing make the old hair look somewhat better. if the hair was groomed and kept original, maybe the only thing done to him was his symbol touch up. so whoever has experience to not restoring fully, but touching up the symbols and caring for the hair. remember we had a the baity nirvana restoration contest and we saw how those turned out. some didnt have their hair changed, just a symbol touch up and body clean up.
i saw a thread on the arena, someone else had a problem with lars. a transacation that didnt go as smoothly as they would have liked it to have been. so it may seem we are not alone in not fully trusting him.

The hair dosn't bother me so much... But unless there's a third pony... those apple trees have been tampered with. I just think someone paying over 1000 $ should be getting what they paid for, and symbol repaints are not it.

It's not the first time a seller would do something like that. I was one of the people "scammed" (along with skeen) that bought a pony from an argentina seller who was found out to have rehaired ponies and the ponies hair wasn't silky smooth (rough to make it look more authentic)

oh my goodness...

from sosilver
Hi everyone.
Sorry if i reply only today but i've been away from home.
First of all thank you to everyone for the support in this delicate case.

Lars, as he told has sent 200$ back in two times (100$ and 100$), but not using the refund option so i've lost some money due to the paypal fees.

I'm still not happy, but at this point i don't think i'll get anything better from him.
Yes, he offered me a full refund, but he never agreed to send the first half of money before receiving a tracking number proving i've sent the ponies first.

The ponies now are in a closet, away from my sight because everytime i see them, i remember how much i've lost in this transaction.

Thank you again to everyone.
M!

That's just unbelievably sad... He sold off so many precious ponies and now he can't even look at what he got in return.
