Now I could be very naive in saying this so, please- anyone, inform me if I'm mistaken... I've never heard of an "oil plastic product" used to preserve ponies. This could be because I'm a very young (and new) collector OR it's just not something collectors do to their ponies.
I'm thinking it's because collector's don't put oil on ponies. Lars just made it up to explain why the symbols were shiny...
THEN after Skeen further inquires what the magic plastic preserving liquid is- it turns out to be vegetable oil... Well why didn't he just say that in the first place?

This WHOLE thing, the whole Colombian pony fiasco sounds like absolute crap to me...
How does a whole community of pony collectors from the US to Norway to Australia to Germany to Mexico and wherever else not know anything about Colombian ponies but some random couple just happens to keep finding thousands of dollars worth of them?
I feel like investigating Hasbro's records themselves to find out whatever I can about the production of ponies in Colombia. I mean is it like gold mining down there? What if I just hopped into Colombia and went to hunt for these ponies and after a couple months returned here with a mortgage payment of them? Why is this exclusive to one couple?
I don't really buy any of it...
