My concern is: how will I manage to have ponies to replace the ones I take? I won't know what I'll be taking so I won't be able to have extra ponies beforehand.
 
The element of surprise is what makes this swap fun. It would probably be awhile before the box would get to you. But if you're concerned about not having things to replace what you take, it would probably be best for you to sit out of this swap.
 
I don't think some people are 'getting' the idea of this swap. There's not really any point in posting a wishlist for something like this. It's COMPLETELY random. You get the box and look through the items. There may or may not be things you'd like to have in there. It's best if people who participate in this kind of swap already have a fairly large tradebox of their own so they can have plenty of options to swap with :)
 
We would know who we were shipping to and therefore could get a couple of things for the next person in line?

Joining a swap like this is a risk you take. It is a random swap. I think it would be fun even if there was nothing for me in it. I should think that shipping it might be pretty costly though.

Would there be a brag thread?
 
How much do you think the shipping will be approx on this box ? Just out of curiosity I suppose if you pack it in a little box it should be fairly cheap :)

Yes, you will know who you're sending to and could purchase things for them, but it may defeat the purpose if they have nothing of the same value to replace it with. There will be a brag thread, but maybe not until the end of the swap so that what was in the box was a surprise.

I don't have a general shipping quote yet because I haven't yet gathered all that I'm putting into the box. 3-5 G1s for sure, probably some G3s. Some G3 merch, stickers, the notebook. I'm going to guess that in the US, it shouldn't cost more than $10. I wanted to go flat rate, but it's horribly expensive internationally.

Exactly that! Ideal swap for people with lots of ponies to trade!
My tradebox is pretty small, that's why I probably won't make it :(

But I just don't think I can do it due to the amount of time I'm spending on my class, regular work, and fieldwork. Curses!
 
If you take a custom pony out the box and if you are NOT a person who can make customs. So you cannot replace the custom pony with a custom is it OK to put a different pony or ponies in it place?
 
bowtiepony, in that case you would replace the custom with ponies or other items that equal the value of the custom. It is up to the customizer to attach a proper value to her custom. If they forget and you are unsure of the value, I will assign a value to it.

Skig, is it okay to PM you BEFORE we ship the box to the next person for feedback on what we're keeping and what we're replacing it with? I would feel a lot better if you or someone could double-check that everything is approximately equal value. I would be so embarrassed to mistakenly replace something semi-rare with a more common item, for example.
