Thank you kindly! I try to make fun coordinating things when I have the chance to do it.

Well the ears are fascinating to me. I have eczema behind my ears so not sure I would be able to wear something like them, but I do always stop and check out ears when I see them.

The time crunch is closing in. The first big con is the 8th and I need to get some of this outfit done.

No worries, I can be super slow responding and need a little prod here and there, especially with work picking up again I’m sure I’ll end up super busy once again.

Yeah, I’m not a huge fan of everything happening constantly in the summer. There were several cons in June and July. I’ll stick to the fall ones since at least the weather is a little better at least.

They're latex, so if that bothers your skin I wouldn't wear them, but the nice thing is that none of the ears except the largest ones need to use any spirit gum along the back of the ear, just a little above the earlobe (just above where cartilage starts) and a little at the front top root of the ear. They're so lightweight they're like a little hat for your ear.

I actually love summer weather (if I could I’d have it be at least 85 all year round lol) but a lot of people all in costumes and close together inside a building in summer heat does sound like it would get a bit, umm fragrant :surprisepony:
though november is a bit cold for some cosplays that don’t cover as much
 
A couple updates. I ordered a resin crescent moon for Wicked Lady’s marking. I realize I could just draw it but I thought this looked neat.

I also painted the buttons for now with acrylic, just on the top surface. I’m waiting on a sealer I ordered and some fabric paint.

It’s coming together more. It won’t be complete for a long time but I have a good starting point for this weekends convention.

The last con of the year for me. It was fun but a full weekend and I only made it one day with cosplay. Till next con season starts.
 
Hi! Does anyone have any tips/tricks for cosplaying a character with an unnatural skin color? Bright blue to be exact. I want to go to my second ever con in cosplay (nervous laugh) and I really like this character, and I can assemble most of her clothes from my wardrobe, the only problem is... One of her most recognisable feature is that she's blue, and I have no idea what to use and how.

There are a couple of ways you can do it. Some people wear a body suit, or even modified tights for parts of the body. When I did Sally from NBC. I used Mehron Paradise Paint. It's like watercolors and is activated by water. You do have to seal it a lot though.

@LilyLightly020 - you can use mehron to paint yourself blue and seal it, or the easy route is to paint your face only and use body stockings in a matching color for your whole body. WeLoveColors is a good site with tutorials for all this, I think they might also have a mehron matching guide..? Not entirely sure. Armsock Tutorial || WeLoveColors
As soon as I figure out how to link some pictures here from my cosplay acc I’ll be sure to share!! kind of excited about it haha, didn’t even think some of my interests would combine like this!

Yes!

Theres a few of us here who also like to dress up and feel like someone else for a day lol

the usagi/sailor moon one was just cause i wanted the shirt, found it at hottopic lol (i never make my own clothes cause im not as cool as some people lol, im a closet cosplayer who uses stuff in my closet)

So i had the skirt, shoes, and socks already!

so when i seen the shirt, i was like OMG and got it lol - so its not 100 Usagi, but close enough lol - like i dont have matching color skirt and the skirt has lines on it and i didnt have the right socks lol - but cosplay is for fun, not for accuracy unless youre a stickler or tryin to win some money or a contest lol - oh and i dont have bangs lol

My most recent cosplay- i’m part of a Sailor Moon group with my friends and we were meant to meet Usagi’s and Rei’s original VAs at a con, they cancelled last minute but we still had loads of fun!! I was Super Sailor Mercury, my friends were Super Sailor Mars and Usagi, and we met a Minako/Venus at the event!!
I 3D printed our wands and tiaras, and I’m still in the process of making a functional/light up Moon Stick!! ^-^
