G3 Minty exists in the toy set, but has not been shown in the show yet, if ever!

My personal take is that the G1 girl group is a heavy reference to G1 and the 80s, rather than being the actual characters from G1 media/canon. There are some G5 characters with G1 names that have similar(ish..) designs to their G1 counterparts, such as Seashell (the purple one) and Glory (the blue one). You might have also seen that Posey is in G5 as well! She seems to be about the age of the Mane 5 rather than the same age as Snuzzle, Bluebelle, and Minty.

Side note, the orange pony is named Peach Fizz. That name rings a bell for me, but I haven't been able to find a pony with that name in any other generation. I don't know why they wouldn't make the third Pippsqueak a G1 'reincarnation' if the other two, are but that IS consistent with how silly G5 is, lol!
 
Exciting news brought to us from the G5 MLP news source!

Hasbro plans to make two new chapters of Make Your Mark in 2023; one chapter consisting of 6 22-minute episodes in September, and one chapter consisting of 3 22-minute episodes and one special in November. It appears that after this, they don't have plans to continue with MYM.

They greenlit a second season of Tell Your Tale, which seems to be doing the most for the brand in terms of G5 toy sales. They announced there will be some 22-minute specials in season 2 too!

This information is tentative as the presentation stated the plans have not been adjusted for budget and other business-y things, so take it with a grain of salt. I personally am so excited. To hear that G5 is doing well enough to greenlight another season of TYT is huge to me! I can't wait to see what new toys come out in the second half of 2023 and in 2024!!

All the info from today was so exciting! The new Izzy toy looks absolutely gorgeous, I hope they make more in this style:

I'm so surprised by TYT being the most effective for bringing in sales -- I suppose because it's more easily accessible? I've always liked MYM better in terms of storyline and animation, but I can see how a digital/social media series would be reaching the audience more easily (plus it's probably cheaper and faster to produce, so win-win for Hasbro there).

But I WISHHHH they would bring back the collectibility of ponies. G5 has so many characters that could be brought into the toyline. I've said it once, I've said it a million times but good gracious I want herds again.

Lovely colors. For some reason, I got excited thinking we were finally getting another new pony.

The Izzy toy looks lovely! I'm excited for finalized product photos.

I was also surprised by TYT resulting in more pony sales. I wonder how they even figure out that kind of thing. I totally agree about more different ponies though! I love the G5 characters, so I don't mind having different toys of them, but 'side'/background characters have a different charm to them. It feels like you can do more with them, if that makes sense? Like, for example, I feel comfortable giving my G4 Lily Blossom random hairstyles and making up a story for her in a way that feels less limited than with Twilight Sparkle. I think a nice balance is best. And I love my Jazz Hooves!! I would be ecstatic if they came out with more G5 fashion styles with different characters. I know they've come out with background ponies in some sets, but I personally prefer brushables. I'm sure this has been said a million times over about G5, but maybe if I keep saying it Hasbro will finally listen.. Lol!! :redheart:

YES this is the kind of style I want from a brushable! I totally agree with the collectable aspect too, I need more horse variety

I fully agree by both being surprised by TYT and the collectibility with the range of characters. That’s one of the things I love about MLP, all the different kinds of ponies…

I just saw the newest TYT that’s on YouTube and realised that the Opaline brushable is from this episode and Misty now looks like her brushables. The finale of MYM is when they reveal her full name as Opaline Arcana too. This episode of TYT was about what happened in the final MYM episode but we don’t see this change in the 3DCG characters. Why didn’t Misty change? I was kind of expecting it when I saw MYM. Also, Opaline reverts back to original colours at the end of this so maybe Opaline is only supposed to become shimmery when using fire powers

I loved the movie but found it hard to get into MYM because of the quality drop in writing and animation - is it worth sticking with? I love the newer character designs I just couldn't gel with the first few eps of MYM

I think it gets better, especially the new series of it. I think it’s the better one.
Maybe I also just like seeing fuzzy looking colourful ponies that look as if you could actually cuddle them bouncing about on my screen though…

But yeah I agree, there is such a noticeable difference after the original film. I think the animation has also improved recently too

i’ll definitely give it another go! Believe me I look at everything through fuzzy pony glasses and I really want to like it

That is such a nice set… wow, it’s so good to finally see new ponies as brushables that size! And a Queen Haven one too! That’s a real surprise!

I wonder if they really meant for Misty’s moulded mane to go into her eyebrow? Also, it’s interesting to see they took that route with that size brushable too.
Pretty cool to see MYM Misty with the updated colours
 
Be prettier if the brushables had their big, colorful open wings.
