Good to know we're not alone. I didn't get too sick so hopefully he won't on the second. I was more worried about a reaction of some kind but he seems to be in the clear with a really sore arm.If it was wrong, then I am right there with you. E got her first on Tuesday. So far, so good. We’ll have to see how it pans out together.
You are a saint. You don't see folks stopping to help animals like that anymore. I tried to save a turtle a few months ago (I don't know much about the different types but I do know enough to stay safe) and it was a snapping turtle. That thing was fast and very aggressive, it was like a western showdown between us in the middle of the road, needless to say I left him because he was so mad I was afraid I would loose a finger. He literally ran across the road so fast then, at least I accomplished what I was trying to do.The other day Action Hank and I headed to town and I rescued an Ornate Box Turtle from the road. No traffic, so I was able to nab him, limp back to the van drop him off in a nearby field. Easy peasy! Then though as we got near the lake by town, we stopped for another turtle, a very large (maybe 18 inches from nose to tail) RedEarred Slider. There was a lot more traffic and a quickly approaching truck in the turtle's lane. I stood fearfully by, hoping the truck would miss him. Instead he stopped, blocked the lane off so I could safely dash out and shoo big boy out of the road, then even waited till I was safely back in the van and we were on our way. I waved and blew him kisses. He was so kind to help me that way when in the past I've had drivers almost hit me, or most horrid, I've had them speed up and hit the animals I'm trying to save. Last year in particular I had an old woman hit a box turtle I was trying to save. She sped up and struck it right in front of me, even with me and another man trying to wave her down so she wouldn't hit the poor thing. I cried so hard. So the man in the truck just will never know how his kindness touched me on a day I really, really needed to see some humanity in others. What a wonderful man. And what a lucky turtle!
(we've had so much rain, the critters are all over the roads! If only people would slow down just a smidge to save them)
My hubby thought your fauchi ouchi comment was great by the way.I dub thee Foof, rescuer of turtles!
I hope the kiddos don't get too crummy feeling from the Fauci Ouchi. My mom and little brother just got their 2nd doses yesterday and have been dealing with the chills/sweats/fever but it will pass. I've been fully vaccinated since the beginning of March. I got the fever/chills/aches and all but it only lasted a day or two. I guess it's what we all gotta do to hopefully get a leg up on this pandemic.
