I've noticed that G2 doesn't seem to be as popular as the other generations are. So I'm curious -- what do you think of G2? Is it really that unpopular, or is it simply overshadowed by the other generations?

I personally really love the G2 pony design. I think they're very sweet and elegant looking. However, I also think the lack of a proper pegasus was very disappointing. XD

I personally do not collect them. I think you're right that they get overshadowed by the other generations. I am not a huge fan of the design, but that's probably just because I remember being in love with G1s as a child, and the G2s have such a different look. However, I do like some of the ones with no moving parts, especially the ones with jewel eyes. The only G2 in my collection is MOC Eve, and that is mostly because that is my daughter's name. I think the G2 babies are really adorable, though, and although I don't have any yet I would like to add a few of them to my collection.

I kinda like 'em. :eek:k:

I'm not big on them, haven't been since they first arrived in stores, just not my cup of tea, there too different from g1, and I just don't like them is all...

They were actually released when i was a child so i grew up with them and bought them new. All my G1's were always second hand but i still love them as well. The G2's though just have a special place with me. I have so many memories of not being able to wait to go to the store and pick out a G2. I ended up with close to the whole collection. I remember wondering what happened to them when they disappeared off the shelves...

I didn't like them at first. To me, they are not "My Little Pony". The G1's and the new FiM, TO ME, are "My Little Pony" but the G2's are super cute for toy ponies. I like them more after the introduction of the FiM ponies

I love the G2s, but then again when I was growing up, they came out when I was still playing with ponies, so my sister and I remember picking them out in stores and playing with them.

I don't spend tons of energy or money on them, but I do like them. It's a shame a lot of the really cool ones were only released in the UK, so those are more difficult to get over here.

So, as it stands, G2s probably only make up 2% of my entire collection.

I'm not interested in G2s. I have none and don't care to have any.

At first, I hated G2s. They didn't look at all like ponies. But now, I like them. I even want to collect them now, especially the babies. But I do agree with you on the fact that there should have been proper pegasi.

I kinda like 'em. :eek:k:

LOL! MustbeJewel wins for best response xD that collection is JAW dropping and- I WANT YOUR JUMBO MINTY PLUSH ;___;

I was getting into other things when '91, 92 rolled around. Anime mostly. I had many G1's as a little kid, I was MLP obsessed, I wish I still had all the ones I had as a kid (even though I likely mauled them too much) I especially loved the babies, Flutter ponies, Sea ponies, and my sleeping bag (which I snuggled to ribbons for years and years until it was bleeding cotton)

When I saw G2 in stores when I was just a preteen- now I honestly thought these things were knock-off's when I saw them, I felt no desire to own one. It wasn't until I started researching My Little Pony toys again after the introduction of G4 that I realized that these 'strange looking' ponies were officially manufactured by Hasbro. G2 has sort of grown on me now that I know they're really official figures. I'm kinda sad, though, because a few months ago, I spotted a few G2 in a bin at a 2nd hand shop and thought for sure they were knock-offs. from now on i'll know better :)

I'm honestly in the collecting game for G4's, now. I absolutely adore their bright colours and expressive eyes [plus i'm a fan of the show and the characters, so I feel they have alot of personality, too]. I can see why old school collectors might not be too fond of them, though. They're the tiniest ponies there have been yet for a generation [but that's actually part of the appeal for me, I have a huge collection of toys already, and the size of G4 makes it easy to add them to the hoard]

I have 3 G2 ponies! Petal Blossom and Prince Clever Clover and 3 McD version Ivys.
I love the G2 ponies! they are one of my favorite Generations! the reason I only have those are cuz I was little when they came out... it was about when I was born (1994) that they came out so I didnt know enought to 'collect' them.. wish I had more though!

I love the style of the G2s, the skinny bodies and long hair. love it!

I really love em! Like ya said, they are elegant plus their boxes (or cards, however they're called) are very well designed. :eek:k:

I absolutely despised them when they first came out, but now they have started to grow on me...At Least Ivy has, she's actually kind of pretty. I found her in a bag of mostly G1's at my local thrift store 'Savers', and I was surprised at how much I actually liked her!

Then again, this was during the G3-9s times, and those were scary-ugly in my book. I'll pick up a G2 if I see one, but I'm not actively searching for them either, I have about 3 now? And my childhood McDonalds G2s, which I never could get rid of.

I like many collectors didn't like them but that was before I had seen them first hand. A friend had turned me off of them when she got me in to collecting describing them as ugly. But the first time they landed in my home via a bulk ebay win, well when I finished cleaning her up I couldn't part with her. Now I collect them too. Only if I like them. No point in collecting ones I don't like right?

Also we have just started our G2 segment of MLP talk so check us out maybe you might change your mind about G2's too.

I used to not like G2s at all, but I found one that I really loved at a pony meet a few years ago (Petal Blossom), and since then they have grown on me. They still fall below G1, G4 and G3 on my preference list and I won't go out and spend a ton of money on any of them, but over the past 3+ years I have acquired 11 G2 ponies, 2 G2 beanies and a couple of merch items. I like a lot of the Euro exclusives the best, but I don't have any of those in my collection yet.

Love 'em! I loved them when I first found them in stores, and I love them now. However, I don't have room for a bunch of them, so I've stuck mainly with my first loves, the G1's.

I really like the baby G2s. Not so much the adults, though there are a few that I really do love -- Silverswirl comes to mind). Unfortunately, like someone else previously mentioned, most of the awesome ones weren't sold here in the U.S. :(

I love G2s . . . but that's probably because my very first pony was Dainty Dove!

I'm a G2 girl myself! In addition to some second-hand G1s, they were what I had when I was a kid. I love how some of them have such unique colours and designs!
