This sounds interesting. Which blind bag was this?
Most, if not all of them, really, in my opinion.

I was never a fan of the way the top portion of her mane folds over itself and has that weird shape going on, like a mix of a bad haircut and bedhead.

It looks like they were prioritizing Twilight’s side view.
Personally I think it looks fine, but it does make a point, what works in 2D animation doesn’t necessarily work in 3 dimensions…

So my Zipp arrived (yesterday). I’m a little underwhelmed but I will say they do look better in person than online. Like, I never really took notice that they actually gave her toy the ombré effect on her wing tips. That’s a nice touch.

Her eyes and cutie mark are laser printed on so there’s some grainy-ness to them. Kinda like the “All About” reboot G4’s.

I haven’t decided if I’m going to open her or not. Once again I got her from Amazon and her box got damaged thanks to careless workers packing boxes. I swear making complaints about damaged toy boxes is literally the only thing I’ve complained about with Amazon. Get it together folks. Anyways if I can find her in store at some point I will open this one up, but until then the broken box stays.

Not gonna comment on the toy itself until I can get one but Zipp’s face on the box! It’s so funny looking I thought for sure it wasn’t going to look like that on the final product.

That stinks that they messed up your box

Oh my goodness.... why on earth did they choose THAT FACE for her packaging? :lolpony: Otherwise she looks good! Glad to hear they put little details like the gradient on her wings, but sadly I see her hooves are left blank. I feared they wouldn't bother with the hooves, and it looks like that's going to be the trend.

Anyways, I'm a little more excited about the toys now that I know for sure there will be ponies with brushable tails and manes. I don't see any in which Hitch has real hair, but maybe there will be one in the future. I always considered those to be the "true ponies" while others that are more posable with plastic hair are associated merchandise. Does anyone else think like this or am I alone?

Also I'm really hoping that we won't have the G4 issue all over again where the same characters get recycled a million times and get no other unique ponies.

No kidding. When I was a teen I had the mail lady hardcore shove my G3 limited edition exclusive art ponies into the mailbox, thankfully it's not too too bad, but I was so mad and I never even got to make a complaint. I'd still like to have some words with that lady.

Good luck finding one in the store so you can have it properly mint!

We agree with you on that.

I too pretty much feel this. Like the brushable are the main ponies and the figures are extra
To me anyway

I've added a couple more updates. ;)

Okay, so at least something is brushable on Hitch but what if I want to give him hair like Syndrome from The Incredibles?

I quite like the size of these ponies. They’re starting to look a lot better for me now. The faces… I’m not sure, but the bodies look a bit better now I’ve seen them with people

I took a stroll thru walmart's selection online (no new ponies in walmarts near me yet... *sob*) and sent my brother some stuff to potentially get for my birthday!! If the crystal adventure pipp ever comes back in stock he'll get me that, and if not he'll get me the collection pack with all 5 of them. I just really really want a pipp petals of some kind LOL.

I feel like the necks are weirdly thin in the new gen but overall I'm warming up to the moulds. I also really like the effort Hasbro seems to be making in order to correspond brushable hair to the characters' designs (like keeping Sunny's hair in a braid). Although given the effort there, it does feel weird for them to get rid of Zipp's mohawk for the brushables lol.

They are weirdly thin. And that's not a Mohawk, that's a paintbrush

It’s pretty cool to see some new ponies who aren’t the main ones. A figure of a royal guard? Cool!
I quite like the figures but are we going to only have a few hair moulds? It’s still early on in G5 so I’m quite fine with this. I just wish there was some more brushables because it feels like figures are the focus of this gen.
Kind of wish I didn’t notice the eyebrows but if they weren’t there, the faces would be super strange. I look see past this though

Nice spotting, @Leave a Whisper! :winkpony:
