Worst Pony Name? (11 Year Edition)

I get really annoyed when they recycle names. I’m not even talking about between 2 different generations, I’m talking about in the same generation.

Sparkler (the Merry-go-round one) deserves better. Look at Diamond Dreams, now that name (while kind of silly) is at least exciting and new. But now she’s forever “MGR Sparkler” because they couldn’t bear to give her her own name. *shakes fist*.

They did the same thing with Sky Rocket. And it’s not even a good name to begin with.

But if we are talking worst names purely on the name itself, I think the award should go to either Loop-de-la or Glitter Glide. We should set up a poll- there are so many bad G3 names.

Ones that really drive me crazy are Ringlet and Ringlets. Really, does adding an "s" to the name make it different? Nope. It just confuses me when I'm trying to figure out if it's a brush n grown pony or a rainbow curl pony.
Haha, indeed! I actually forgot about this one simply because they are so similar. In fact, I'm not even 100% sure I recognized a difference until you just mentioned it. These ponies deserve better!

Pina Colada, for so many reasons.

Lovely pony, I love the neon coloring. But it's not a shade that is even remotely close to that of piña colada and even stranger, why would they name a toy children after an alcoholic cocktail?

Another Tropical Pony with a name I really dislike is "Tootie Tails". It sounds...odd.

I’m a G3 lover through and through but there definitely some clunky names… Chilly Breezes is one in my collection that always puts me off but I can never pin down why. I also don’t like names that are a bit too on the nose (like Green Apple or the infamous Flippity Flop). Who knows, maybe they’ll grow on me?

There's also a third one, Great Hair Ringlets. :hmph:

Also there's two ponies named Yum Yum, which isn't that great of a name to begin with IMO.

The most annoying one has to be Sniffles. There's two different Sniffles in the same set (Newborn Twins)... The other Sniffles being an unicorn, and the other one is an Earth pony. PLUS there's also the Teeny Tiny Baby Sniffles.

Since it's European, I don't come across it in lots, so I don't have to look it up and figure out if I have to add an "s" to the name when I put it up in my eBay auctions, so that one doesn't bother me. I deal with the other two, though, enough to be annoying.

But Hasbro reusing names for different ponies is super annoying. It's not hard to come up with unique names.

G3 had its fair share of odd (if not outright dumb) names, but IMO Twirlerina takes the cake.

I used to have her! Unfortunately, her name made my parents think of fart jokes. :rolleyespony: I was a bit too happy to sell her when I thinned my collection.

Heh, I can well see why they'd think that!

Teeny tiny baby ponies have some really awful names. "Teeny Sniffles", in particular, is just urgh. "Snookums" is not great either.
